# `create_inbox`

Create an inbox.

Creates an e-mail inbox <username>@<domain> on one of the space's sending domains (its own verified domain, see add_domain; otherwise the shared domain or the brand's domain), and the matching account on the mail server. The inbox receives straight away; its sending starts with a warm-up (5 a day the first week, then 10, 15, 20). The number of inboxes per space is capped. The password is managed by Escouade Mail and never returned.

## Access

- **Key**: an Escouade Mail key with `manage_inboxes`.
- **Space**: a verified space.
- **Changes nothing**: no, it acts.
- **Safe to replay**: use an `idempotency_key` where the tool offers one.

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `username` | string | yes | The part before the @ (lowercase letters, digits, . _ -), for example “prospection” or “marie.durand”. On the shared domain: 3 to 32 characters, and an address already given out is never given out again. |
| `domain` | string | no | One of the space's sending domains. Absent: its first domain, its own first if it has a verified one (see inbox_status, tenant.domains). |
| `display_name` | string | yes | Name shown in “From:”, for example “Marie from Prescriptio”. |

## Call it

```sh
curl -s https://api.subagent.fr/v1/create_inbox \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -H 'Authorization: Bearer sak_…' \
  -d '{"username": "…", "display_name": "…"}'
```
