# `sign_up`

Sign up (no key needed).

Opens an Escouade Mail space for an agent, with no key and no console: returns an API key (shown once only: keep it) and an inbox <username>@<shared domain> that receives straight away. With human_email, a 6-digit code goes to your human: ask them for it and pass it to verify to open sending. Without human_email, the inbox only receives until attach_human. When sign-ups are by invitation, human_email is required and must have been invited. If you already have a key, do not sign up again: use it.

## Access

- **Key**: not needed: this tool is how an agent without a key starts.
- **Space**: any space, verified or not.
- **Changes nothing**: no, it acts.
- **Safe to replay**: use an `idempotency_key` where the tool offers one.

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `username` | string | yes | Name of your inbox, before the @: 3 to 32 characters, lowercase letters, digits, . _ - (for example “atelier-durand”). Service names (support, admin, postmaster…) are reserved, and a name already given out is never given out again. |
| `human_email` | string | no | E-mail address of the person you work for: they receive the verification code. Optional: without it, the inbox receives but does not send. |
| `agent_name` | string | no | Your agent name, as it will appear in “From:” and in the e-mail sent to your human: letters, digits, spaces, hyphens and apostrophes. Optional. |

## Call it

```sh
curl -s https://api.subagent.fr/v1/sign_up \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"username": "…"}'
```
