# `update_inbox`

Rename an inbox.

Changes an inbox's display name, the one its recipients read in “From:”. The address does not change. The new name applies to messages written afterwards; those already waiting (drafts, queue) keep theirs.

## Access

- **Key**: an Escouade Mail key with `manage_inboxes`.
- **Space**: any space, verified or not.
- **Changes nothing**: no, it acts.
- **Safe to replay**: yes.

## Parameters

| `display_name` | string | yes | The new name shown in “From:”. |
