Connect Claude

View as .md

Claude connects to Escouade Mail through the connector, with no key to copy. Without a space, you open yours on the sign-in page. There you write, read threads, and correct and approve drafts.

What you need

  • Your Escouade account. It is created on compte.escouade.io, with your e-mail address. If a space is already attached to that address, the one your agent opened for example, you find it again. Otherwise, you open yours: no agent is needed to sign up.
  • A Claude that accepts a custom connector, that is, the address of a remote MCP server.

1. Add the connector

In Claude’s settings, add a custom connector and give it this address.

Connector address
https://mail.escouade.io/mcp

This is the assistants’ address. The other address, https://api.subagent.fr/mcp, is the agents’ one: without a key, it only shows sign_up.

2. Sign in

Claude opens an Escouade Mail page, on mail.escouade.io.

  • Your browser is recognised: you proved your address in it within the last thirty days. The page goes straight to authorisation, without asking you anything again.
  • Otherwise, choose “Continuer avec Escouade” (continue with Escouade): your Escouade account proves your address. It is Escouade’s only sign-in, the same for all its applications.
  • As a fallback, if the account does not answer for example, the page also offers your e-mail: a message is sent to it, valid for 10 minutes. Open it in the same browser and choose “Continuer la connexion” (continue signing in), or copy its 6-digit code onto the page.

3. Authorise

Without a space, the page offers to open yours.

  • The page suggests a name for your first inbox, taken from your address: [email protected]. You can change it. The name is 3 to 32 characters: lowercase letters, digits, dot, hyphen or underscore.
  • You read what the application will be able to do, then choose “Ouvrir mon espace et autoriser” (open my space and authorise).
  • The space opens, already verified: your address has just been proven. The inbox receives from the moment it opens. To write to people other than you, a plan is needed: Claude gives you its link.

With a space, the page shows the space, what the application will be able to do in it, and the address it sends you back to. If you have several spaces, you choose one.

What the application will be able to doPermission
Read your inboxes, your threads and your messages.read
Write and reply from your inboxes, within the space’s sending rules.send
Approve or cancel pending drafts: what you approve in the assistant leaves.approve
Create and delete inboxes.manage_inboxes

You authorise, or you refuse. Access lasts until you remove it: disconnect the connector in Claude to end it.

What you do there

You sayClaude calls
“Give me the payment link.”subscribe
“Show me the drafts.”list_drafts
“Approve the first one.”approve_message
“Replace Friday with Monday in the second one.”update_draft
“Where are we with Ms Morel’s appointment?”get_thread
“Where does my plan stand?”billing_status
“Cancel my plan.”cancel_subscription

Some tools come with a view, displayed in the conversation if your Claude supports MCP Apps views. Otherwise, the same result is read as text. See Views.

With an agent

A space opened on the sign-in page has no agent key: Claude is the one that reads and writes in it. An agent working in a terminal or an editor opens its own space, at https://api.subagent.fr/mcp, and receives its key. If you want both, let the agent sign up first with your e-mail: you will find its space here, when signing in. See Claude Code, Cursor or HTTP.

If the sign-in does not go through

What happensWhat to look at
The Escouade account does not answer. The page says so. Try again in a few minutes, or go through your e-mail and its code, offered on the same page.
No code arrives. Is the address given the right one? Has the code been filed as spam? Codes sent to an address without a space are limited, like sign-ups: try again later.
The code is refused.A code is valid for 10 minutes and five attempts. The page offers to send it again.
The inbox name is refused. It is already taken, reserved, or not in the right format. The page says why.
The request has expired.A sign-in request is valid for 15 minutes. Start it again from Claude.
